Piers Adams recorder (concerto soloist or with Howard Beach harpsichord/piano)
Piers Adams has been heralded by the Washington Post as ‘the reigning recorder virtuoso in the world today’. Founder and ringleader of the baroque super-group Red Priest he is recognised internationally for his astonishing technical command and musical imagination, expressed through a repertoire spanning many musical genres. In recital with the harpsichordist/pianist Howard Beach he performs music from the renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic and modern eras, with a special focus on the recorder’s neglected heritage of 19th century salon music. As a concerto soloist he has performed with numerous orchestras including the Academy of Ancient Music, the BBC Symphony, OSJ, Irish Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia.
