Margaret Faultless director
Devon Baroque, the South West’s leading professional chamber orchestra performing on baroque instruments and using historically informed performance techniques, brings music alive to audiences, especially in areas with limited access to such events. It has a reputation for vibrant, exuberant and polished performance due in part to the charismatic direction (from the violin) of the internationally renowned Margaret Faultless who is co-leader of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and for over twelve years leader of the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra. A graduate of Cambridge University, she has established a Baroque project there, lectures at Bristol University, is the Director of Studies of the European Union Baroque Orchestra and regularly directs orchestras at the Royal Academy of Music.
