Dragonsfire perform regularly all over the United Kingdom and Europe and past engagements have taken them to Canada, Scandinavia and the Middle East. The group has appeared on radio and television in this country and abroad, and they have composed and performed music for both radio and theatrical productions. Dragonsfire always try to ensure that their concert programmes contain a crossover of musical styles, including Renaissance, traditional British folk and light classical music. All their repertoire is arranged by members of the group, so that even the best known pieces have a completely new sound. As each member is a multi-instrumentalist, the group use anything up to fifty instruments in a typical concert programme. Each item is introduced from the platform in an informal but informative presentation. This approach makes Dragonsfire an ideal introduction to early music for the family and non-specialist audience.
Sample Programme:
A Royal Array: an ideal introduction to early music including The Boar’s Head Carol, The Silver Swan and Greensleeves, plus arrangements of traditional and light classical music and song, featuring up to 50 instruments, including a Swiss Alpine horn!
