Since its formation in 1991, Florilegium has established a reputation for stylish and exciting interpretations of music from the baroque era to early romantic. Engagements have included Europe, China, Hong Kong, Australia, North and South America. In 2006 they returned to Bolivia, recorded a second CD of music from the Missions, and participated in the biannual Baroque Festival of Music from the Moxos and Chiquitos Archives. Recent UK festivals include York, Newbury, Leicester and Brighton. Since 2002 Florilegium perform with The Bach Choir in their annual St Matthew Passion at the Royal Albert or Festival Hall, and give regular performances at London’s Wigmore Hall. The 17 recordings for Channel Classics have been awarded many prizes including a Gramophone Award nomination, five Gramophone Editor’s Choice, six Diapasons d’Or and four Chocs de la Musique from France. Florilegium’s Telemann’s Paris Quartets Vol 2 also won the Classical Internet Award from Classicstoday.com.

Dr Haydn’s London Academy: includes two London symphonies arranged by Salomon for flute, string quartet and fortepiano plus arias sung by Madame Gertrude Mara, a soprano who performed for Haydn in Salomon’s concert series in Soho Square, London.
Education:
Florilegium has been involved in education projects at secondary and tertiary level for many years. They give annual masterclasses in the Czech Republic and frequently give lecture recitals at colleges and universities whilst touring Europe and the Americas.
