Having recently celebrated their silver jubilee, Gothic Voices continue their quest to bring music from the medieval world into the mainstream, making it accessible to today’s audiences without compromising its integrity. During those 25 years Gothic Voices have recorded more than 20 CDs for the Hyperion label, three of them Gramophone award winners. Their concert programmes usually for 4, but also available for 5 or 3 unaccompanied voices - exploit the extraordinary diversity of timbre and texture found in medieval music and the wealth of experience brought to the group by its membership unchanged since 1995. Unchanging also has been the critics’ praise for Gothic Voices’ perfection of ensemble, sonority, intonation and musicianship; what The Times described as ‘…sustenance for the soul, a short-cut to bliss’.

A Medieval Life of Christ: Beginning with the Annunciation, Gothic Voices sings medieval music which follows Christ’s life through Christmas and Epiphany to Passiontide with Christ’s death and resurrection at Easter.

Education:

Recent workships given by members of Gothic Voices have included Music of the Crusades from the 12th and 13th centuries, and Spirits of England and France, a comparison of the works of Dunstaple and Machaut.
