Peter Holman director Judy Tarling leader
Leeds Baroque Choir and Orchestra brings together professional, student and non-professional performers with an enthusiasm for historically informed performance practice. Directed by Peter Holman, with Judy Tarling as orchestral leader and Clive McClelland as chorus master, they have developed a reputation for lively and well researched programmes. Their repertoire includes major works of the Baroque period (Bach, Handel, Vivaldi etc), but they also feature some unjustly neglected composers of the period. In addition to their joint programmes, the Choir and Orchestra perform separately, and the orchestra occasionally accepts invitations to play for other choirs.
The orchestra maintains strong links with the University of Leeds School of Music, where it provides opportunities for students who wish to specialise in Baroque performance practice.

Restoration Odes: A fascinating exploration of these works by Purcell, Draghi and Clarke all in new scholarly editions and, in the case of Jeremiah Clarke, the first modern performances of two short odes he wrote for the Peace of Ryswick in 1697.
