John Landor Music Director 9-35 players
London Musical Arts offer a variety of different ensembles, from chamber ensemble to full orchestra on both modern and period instruments. They perform mainly baroque, classical and romantic chamber orchestra repertoire but can also accommodate most other programme suggestions.
Founded in 1985, they have performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, St John’s, Smith Square and on tour both in the UK and abroad. For the past 15 years they have been based at St Martin-in-the-Fields where they perform more than 20 concerts annually. Music Director John Landor is an experienced conductor, educated at Oxford University and The Royal Academy of Music, and is a former pupil of Ilya Musin at the St Petersburg Conservatory. In 1991 he was a semi-finalist in the Besançon International Conductors’ Competition and has been guest conductor for orchestras and opera companies in the UK and Europe.
