Elizabeth Wallfisch violin/director/soloist
The Academy of Ancient Music (AAM) is one of the world’s first and foremost period-instrument orchestras. Concerts across six continents and over 250 recordings since its formation by Christopher Hogwood in 1973 demonstrate The AAM’s pre-eminence in the music of the period 1600-1850, from Monteverdi to Mendelssohn.
The 2005-06 season features two Baroque programmes with the newly appointed Associate Director, Richard Egarr, a USA tour with violinist Giuliano Carmignola and an AAM commission from Thea Musgrave conducted by Paul Goodwin.
