Matthew Wadsworth lute and theorbo
Matthew Wadsworth is in great demand in Europe, North America and the Far East. Matthew’s many acclaimed discs include, When Laura Smiles (with James Gilchrist), Away Delights (with Carolyn Sampson) and 14 Silver Strings (solo theorbo of Kapsberger and Piccinini). Masters of the Lute, on Channel Classics, was the Gramophone Editor’s Choice. Further releases include A Varietie of Lute Lessons, the Dowland songs and a further disc of Kapsberger. Matthew studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague. He is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. He is also Musical Ambassador for Britain’s National Talking Newspapers and Magazines. Recent engagements include the Wigmore Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) and the Beverley, Budapest, Innsbruck, Lufthansa, Mitte-Europa, Montreal, and Spitalfields festivals.
