Sara Stowe and Barbara Segal founded Chalemina to provide high-quality entertainment with the best of early music and dance for children aged between 3-11. Their semi-staged and costumed performances have lots of audience participation and have delighted audiences at many venues including: South Bank Centre; Beverley Early Music Festival; York Christmas Early Music Festival; Theatre Royal Bury St. Edmunds; Leeds International Concert Series; Luton Library Theatre St.George’s Festival. Rural Touring Schemes and at schools nationwide. Their shows include: Little Bo Peep for very small children: 18th century nursery rhyme characters help little Bo Peep find her lost sheep. Please bring your own favourite soft toy to help Little Bo Peep! Sir Goward the Coward and the Feasty Beasty: a rumbustious tale of Old England in which hopeless knight Sir Goward seeks to win the hand of the fair Princess Matilda. Mozart’s Birthday Party: It is Mozart’s birthday, but no guests have arrived at his party. His sister Nannerl gets her thinking cap on and comes up with a birthday party to which You are invited! Children are invited to sing and dance, play pass the parcel to a nursery rhyme set of variations Mozart has just written, as well as to dance the music composed by the young Mozart on his visit to London in 1764/65.

The Ratcatcher, the Queen and the Lord High Executioner…a Tale of Love and Royal Intrigue at the Court of King Kafoozalum! Princess Periwinkle won’t wake up. Her father, King Kafoozalum is at his wits end and invites suitors to awaken her and thus win her hand. The simple Ratcatcher watches the Queen, and waits to see who will be the lucky suitor. For children aged 5-11 with lots of participation, dance and early instruments.
Education:
Workshops of singing and dancing relating to their performances of medieval, Tudor and baroque music and dance with lots of participation. For all ages. Ideal group number of approximately 30 children. Also give workshops on Victorian music and dance.
