Oxford’s resident award-winning orchestra has been described as ‘one of the classiest baroque bands’ The Observer; positioned at the ‘forefront of period-instrument ensembles’ BBC Music Magazine, it is renowned for its ‘exquisite refinement of sound’ and the ‘incredible intensity’ of its playing The Guardian. The orchestra has on-going collaborations with some thirty vocal groups - choral societies and professional choirs alike - all over the UK, and has been conducted by many musicians of renown, including Sir Charles Mackerras. The ensemble has appeared at all prominent venues in London, including Buckingham Palace, and many of the country’s major cathedrals and concert venues, including the Royal Armouries Museum. Recent and forthcoming engagements include major festivals in the UK, and tours to Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, South East Asia, Turkey and the USA.

Vespers Music by Handel and Pachelbel: Pachelbel’s as yet unpublished/unrecorded ravishing Magnificat and Ingressus for 5 voices, 2 violins, 3 viols, bassoon + b.c., complemented by the ever-popular and virtuosic Dixit Dominus by Handel, also written for the same forces.
