The Burning Bush is the UK’s most widely acclaimed group playing traditional music of the old Jewish world. Mystical dances of the Hassidim, haunting ballads of the old Ottoman world, foot-tapping Klezmer, heartrending songs of the Yiddish theatre and ghetto - our repertoire embraces music of the Ashkenazi, Sephardi and Oriental Jews. A spectacular variety of instruments and styles from the familiar to the exotic, all introduced by the performers. Programmes can also include traditional shadow puppets. Tours include South America, Finland, Germany Slovenia and Slovakia. UK venues include Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican, St Alban’s Cathedral, St John’s Smith Square.
